Lions top Chevy’s to win tourney

The Concordia Lions captured the Peewee Baseball City League Tournament championships by defeating the Chevy's 10-5 Wednesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Putting up five runs on three hits and two walks in the top of the first inning, the Lions would not trail in the game.
Rush LeDuc and Chane Parker each singled and scored in the inning.
Drake Blochlinger and Logan Jackson walked and scored.
Evan Bombardier also scored a run.
The Chevy's made it a 5-2 game with two runs in the bottom of the first.
Baylor Knox doubled and scored in the inning. Boone Richard singled and scored.
Four runs in the top of the second inning gave the Lions a 9-2 advantage.
LeDuc and Parker singled and scored in the inning.
Blochlinger and Maddox Frey walked and scored.
The Chevy's scored three runs in the third inning to close the gap to 9-5.
Kale Schroeder singled and scored a run.
Knox walked and scored and Richard scored a run.
A solo home run by Parker in the fourth inning gave the Lions a 10-5 cushion.
Parker had three hits and scored three runs for the Lions.
LeDuc had two hits and scored two runs.
Richard had two hits and scored two runs for the Chevy's. Andrew Henderson had two hits.
In the third-place game, the American Legion scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat the Knights of Columbus, 7-5.
The American Legion trailed 5-1 heading into the last half of the final inning.
Cayden Williams led of the inning with a single, and came around to score.
Cole Britt reached base and scored.
Braytin Hake and Trey Collins each doubled.
Connor Novak singled.
Cody Trost then hit a walk off home run.
The Knights of Columbus got out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Karson Lister, Francisco Ayala and Carson Tholstrup each singled and scored.
A run in the top of the fourth inning gave the Knights of Columbus a 4-0 advantage.
Kohl Newlin doubled and scored in the inning.
The American Legion made it 4-1 when Trost doubled and scored in the bottom of the fourth.
Sean Morgan singled and scored in the top of the fifth to put the Knights of Columbus up 5-1.
The American Legion then rallied in the bottom of the fifth to get the win.
