Local wrestlers qualify for state

HAYS — Led by six individual champions, the Concordia Kids Wrestling Club had 15 competitors place in the top four at the USA Wrestling Kansas District 4 Championships Saturday at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
Wrestlers placing in the top four qualify for the Folkstyle State Championships scheduled for March 14-15 at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka.
Concordia wrestlers capturing first place finishes in the district tournament, the weight class and age division, include:
Kaleb Keiswetter, 61, 10-and-under; Deekon Holbert, 95, 10-and-under; Carter Eakins, 92, 12-and-under; Tracer Murdock, 165, 12-and-under; and Koby Tyler, 115, 14-and-under.
Placing second include:
Warric Eakins, 70, 10-and-under; Kale Schroeder, 88, 12-and-under; Drew Sterrett, 110, 12-and-under; Christian Belden, 85, 14-and-under; and Daniel Vines, 126, high school.
Tre Hamiel, 130, 10-and-under, and Easton Swihart, 125, 14-and-under, placed third.
Placing fourth include:
Cooper Wogomon, 73, 8-and-under; Drake Blochlinger, 100, 12-and-under; and Logan Leiszler, 113, high school.
