McMillan places third in singles at home tournament

Concordia High School junior Riley McMillan won three of four matches on her way to placing third in number one singles at the invitational tournament the Panthers hosted on Thursday.
McMillan slipped past LeNae Knight, Beloit, 8-7 in the opening round. She rolled past Molly Gaug, Clay Center, 8-1.
Shea Kramer, Marysville, dealt McMillan an 8-3 defeat.
McMillan bounced back to beat Gaug a second time, 8-4, to finish third.
Concordia placed sixth as a team with five points.
Phillipsburg won the team title with 24 points. Clay Center was second with 16 and Marysville was third with 12.
Lacie Duvall finished fifth in number two singles for Concordia. She fell 8-5 to Kamryn Sidener, Beloit, and 8-7 to Addy Wichman, Clay Center, and then knocked off Rebekah Jones, Wamego, 8-5.
Ayla Collins and Madelyn Stiles, playing number one doubles for the Panthers, fell 8-0 to Beloit, 8-0 to
Clay Center and 8-0 to Marysville.
Misty Collins and Shantel Cullens-Zeiters played number two doubles for Concordia. They were beaten 8-0 by Beloit, 8-0 by Clay Center and 8-1 by Marysville.
