Panther JV competes in league tournament

WAMEGO — Kiara Rugg and Ruby Genereux, playing number one doubles, picked up one win for the Concordia High School tennis team in the North Central Kansas League junior varsity tournament.
Chapman won the team title with 33 points. Wamego was second with 32 and Marysville was third with 30.
Rugg and Genereux opened with a 6-1 loss to Ava Spicer and Micaiah Urban, Marysville. They then defeated Maci Meuli and Allison Rose, Abilene, 6-4.
The Concordia duo lost 6-4 to Josie Baer and Cora Merritt, Chapman; 6-1 to Piper Clark and Paige Freidline, Wamego; and 6-5 to Izzy Blackwood and Annalea Hendrickson, Clay Center.
Shanna Sulanka played number one singles for Concordia. She fell 6-0 to Ryann Roberts, Marysville; 6-1 to Charlie Elliot, Abilene; 6-2 to Gabbie Diercks, Chapman; 6-0 to Carys Donahue, Wamego; and 6-0 to Lydia Peterson, Clay Center.
In number two doubles, Concordia's Emma Ramirez and Jazlyn Hendershott lost 6-0 to Tylar DeWeese and Riley Reitz, Abilene; 6-0 to Carmen Courtois and Zoey Peterson, Chapman; 6-0 to Braylyn Beets and Anna Oyola, Wamego; and 6-0 to Kylee Shivers and Kaley Chambers, Clay Center.
