Panther wrestlers defeat Marysville

MARYSVILLE — Winning eight of the 10 matches decided on the mat, the Concordia High School wrestling team defeated Marysville 57-18 in its first North Central Kansas League dual of the season.
Concordia picked up wins in the first two matches of the dual to get out to a 12-0 lead.
Christian Belden pinned Tayven Wilson in the second period in the 106-pound class.
Ashton Dooley, 113 pounds, won by forfeit.
Logan Leiszler suffered one of just two losses for the Panthers. He was pinned by Gabe Fredrickson in the 120-pound class.
Concordia's Carter Eakins won by forfeit in the 126-pound class.
Daniel Vines, 132 pounds, won a 10-4 decision over Brock Crome to give Concordia a 21-6 lead.
Marysville closed the gap to 21-12 when Kai Barton pinned Drew Sterrett in the 138-pound class.
The Panthers won the next eight matches.
Easton Swihart, 145 pounds, needed just 31 seconds to pin Ian Detimore.
Toby Wahlmeier pinned Porter Sparks in 1:34 in the 152-pound class.
Caleb Hanson pinned Duke Timmel in the third period in the 160-pound class.
Nathan Brown, 170 pounds, pinned Jacob Haefele in 1:59.
Jacob Barr, 182 pounds, won by forfeit.
Keyan Miller defeated Beau Wassenburg 6-3 in the 195-pound class.
Tracer Murdock, 220 pounds, won a 7-4 decision over Juandre Walton.
Concordia gave up a forfeit to Garrison Craig in the 285-pound class.
In the only contested girls' match, Concordia's Teggan Workman, 138 pounds, lost by fall to Ella Johnson.
There was one junior varsity match.
Concordia's Mason Eickmann, 160 pounds, pinned Kendall Minneman.
