Panther wrestlers win tournament

MINNEAPOLIS — Led by seven individual champions, the Concordia High School wrestling team placed first in the Jeff Giles Memorial Invitational, hosted by Minneapolis High School on Saturday.
Concordia racked up 306 points in the tournament.
Minneapolis finished a distant second with 154 points and Russell was third with 152.
Christian Belden, 106 pounds; Carter Eakins, 132 pounds; Drew Sterrett, 138 pounds; Deekon Holbert, 144 pounds; Drake Blochlinger, 150 pounds; Mason Eickmann, 165 pounds; and Tracer Murdock, 190 pounds, captured individual titles for Concordia.
The Panthers had 14 wrestlers place in the top five in their respective weight classes.
Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds, placed second for Concordia.
Quinn Kymer, 113 pounds; Ashton Dooley, 120 pounds; and Cody Trost, 126 pounds, placed third.
Rush LeDuc, 120 pounds, placed fourth.
Tre Hamiel, 157 pounds, and Max Johnson, 215 pounds, placed fifth.
