Panthers boys defeat Irish, girls fall

The Concordia High School wrestling team defeated Chapman 63-16 in a North Central Kansas League dual Thursday night in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium.
Winning the first three matches, Concordia got out to an 18-0 lead on Chapman.
Blaike Joubert, 106-pound class, and Quinn Kymer, 113-pound class, won by forfeit for the Panthers.
Ashton Dooley pinned Marcus Reed in the 120-pound class.
Concordia's Cody Trost lost by fall to Colton Bell in the 126-pound class.
The Panthers then won the next four matches.
Carter Eakins, 132 pounds, pinned Blake Barnum in the second period.
Drew Sterrett pinned Kaicen DeWeese in 1:04 in the 138-pound class.
Deekon Holbert needed just 51 seconds to pin Ethan Calovich in the 155-pound class.
Drake Blochlinger, 150 pounds, pinned Ian Sayers in 2:00.
Trey Hamiel lost a 13-4 major decision to Chapman's Audiel Becker in the 157-pound class.
The Panthers then won four straight matches.
Mason Eickmann, 165 pounds, won a 13-7 decision over Ryan Clark.
Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds, pinned Neziah Brown.
Tracer Murdock pinned Michael Shipman in 1:13 in the 190-pound class.
Max Johnson took just 35 seconds to pin Dean Wildman in the 215-pound class.
Jacob Barr, 285 pounds, lost by fall to Chapman's Aven Fisher.
The Concordia girls suffered a 30-24 loss to Chapman.
Both teams were open in the 100-pound class and the 105-pound class.
Concordia's Ava Metro, 110 pounds, lost by fall to Alyssa Calovich.
Tierney Breault won by forfeit for the Panthers in the 115-pound class.
Both teams were open at 120 pounds.
Concordia's Brexlynn Koch won by forfeit in the 125-pound class.
Gabi Lange, 130 pounds, pinned Chapman's Lexi Buckley in 46 seconds.
The Panthers took a 24-6 lead when Ruby Genereux pinned Brooklyn Hill in the 135-pound class.
That would be the last win for Concordia.
Tameka Weber, 140 pounds, was pinned by Taya Rowley.
Both teams were open at 145 pounds.
Jeiza Hernandez, 155 pounds, lost by fall to Aly Brown.
The Panthers gave up forfeits at 170 and 190 and both teams were open at 235.
The Concordia boys recorded wins in all three junior varsity matches.
Rush LeDuc pinned Jonah Frey in the 120-pound class.
Connor Novak, 138, pinned Roper Woods.
Andrew Romero, 190 pounds, pinned Quinton Mann.
