Panthers compete in 3A state meet

WICHITA — The Concordia High School track and field team had three individuals and one relay team compete in the Class 3A state track and field championships Friday and Saturday at Cessna Stadium.
Concordia freshman Charlize Cash qualified for state in three events.
Cash ran 17.07 in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles and 49.06 in the preliminaries of the 300-meter hurdles. She did not advance to the finals in either event.
Ashley Singhateh, Eureka, won the 100 hurdles in 14.97 and the 300 hurdles in 45.29.
Concordia's 4x100 relay team of Cash, senior Jaida Koester, sophomore Aubrey Stahlman and freshman Kynlee Hamel ran 51.77 in the preliminaries and did not qualify for the finals.
Lakin had a time of 49.73 in the finals to win the 4x100 relay.
Panther senior Bergun Kindel cleared 11-6 and finished tied for 12th in the pole vault.
Josiah Bell, Hoisington, made 14-0 to capture first in the pole vault.
Concordia senior Aceyn Cash competed in the high jump. He made 5-6 and finished tied for 14th.
Brayden Stobel, Russell, won the high jump by making 6-4.
Wichita-Collegiate won the 3A boys' team title with 60 points. Southeast of Saline was second with 51 and Wichita-Trinity was third with 48.
Prairie View won a closely contested battle for the girls' 3A team title with 41.5 points. Phillipsburg and Smoky Valley each scored 41 points and tied for second.
