Panthers improve to 4-0 in league with win over Chapman

The Concordia High School wrestling team improved to 4-0 in North Central Kansas League duals by defeating Chapman 49-27 Thursday night in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium.
Concordia, after competing in the Rose Hill Invitational today and Saturday, will wrap up its regular season with a league dual at Clay Center next Thursday.
Winning the first seven matches, the Panthers got out to a 40-0 lead on Chapman.
Christian Belden pinned Julius Ray Gozo in 2:02 in the 106-pound class.
Ashton Dooley needed just 14 seconds to pin Tyson Johnson in the 113-pound class.
Daniel Vines, 120 pounds, pinned Travis Lea Sure in 59 seconds.
Logan Leiszler, 126 pounds, won by forfeit.
Braxton Kindel won a 13-5 major decision over Aiden Rowley in the 143-pound class.
Cody Trost received a bye in the 138-pound class.
Easton Swihart made it 40-0 by pinning Colin Kramer in 21 seconds in the 145-pound class.
Concordia then suffered consecutive losses.
Toby Wahlmeier was pinned by Justin Wiener-Mclane in the 152-pound class.
Caleb Hanson, 160 pounds, lost by fall to Augustus Johns.
The Panthers picked up wins in the next two matches.
Nathan Brown, 170 pounds, won a 4-0 decision over Ryan Clark.
Keyan Miller, 182 pounds, pinned Michael Shipman in 1:36.
Chapman picked up wins in the final three matches.
Jadrian Riley was pinned in the 195-pound class.
Tracer Murdock, 220 pounds, lost by decision to Brayden Lexow.
Michael Ashland, 285 pounds, lost by fall.
In the only girls' match, Concordia Teggan Workman won an 11-7 decision over Chapman's Taya Rowley.
Concordia won two of four junior varsity matches.
Keigan Workman, 106 pounds, pinned Blake Barnum.
Drew Sterrett, 132 pounds, won by technical fall, 15-0, over TJ Schriner.
Mason Eickmann, 160 pounds, lost by default to Paul Cooper.
Jacob Barr, 170 pounds, lost by fall to Kendan Blacketer.
