Panthers knock off Fort Riley, 35-9

The Concordia seventh grade girls' basketball team opened its season with a 35-9 victory over Fort Riley Thursday night in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium.
Concordia shut out Fort Riley in the first quarter, and scored 12 points.
The Panthers added six points in the second stanza, to five for Fort Riley, and led 18-5 at halftime.
Outscoring Fort Riley 11-1 in the third period, Concordia extended the lead to 29-6.
The Panthers doubled up Riley County 6-3 in the final quarter.
Marlee VanMeter led a balanced Concordia offense with nine points.
Avery Kueker added eight points.
The Concordia B-team cruised to a 37-8 win over Fort Riley.
Concordia had a 12-4 lead at halftime.
The Panthers pumped in 25 points in the second half to 4 for Fort Riley.
Zaeley Garst scored 22 points for the Panthers. Harley Weathersbee finished with six points.
