Panthers place third in league tourney

CHAPMAN — The Concordia seventh grade boys' basketball team got past Clay Center 52-49 in triple overtime to place third in the North Central Kansas League Tournament.
Concordia fell 47-44 to Fort Riley in the semifinals of the tournament on Thursday.
The Panthers were tied 42-42 with Clay Center at the end of regulation in the third-place game.
Each team scored three points in the first overtime and three points in the second overtime.
Concordia limited Clay Center to one point in the third overtime, and scored four to get the win.
Boone Richard and Drake Blochlinger scored 15 points each for the Panthers. Isaias Irigoyen added 12 points.
Concordia led Fort Riley 18-8 after one quarter of play in the semifinals.
Fort Riley outscored the Panthers 39-26 over the third three quarters to get the win.
Blochlinger scored 22 points and Richard chipped in 12.
