Panthers post win in league tourney

MARYSVILLE — The Concordia seventh grade girls' basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the North Central Kansas League Tournament with a 36-13 victory over Wamego on Wednesday.
Concordia was scheduled to play the winner of the game between Marysville and Chapman at 3 p.m. today. The championship and third-place games were to follow the semifinals.
The Panthers jumped out to a 16-6 first quarter lead on Wamego.
Concordia shut out Wamego in the second period, and scored six points to go up 22-6 at halftime.
The Panthers outscored Wamego 8-5 in the third quarter to increase the lead to 20-11.
Concordia added six points in the final period to two for Wamego.
Taylor McDaniel led Concordia with 16 points. KcAnna Keiswetter added eight points.
