Panthers shut out Chapman

CHAPMAN — Scoring three times in the second quarter, the Concordia eighth grade football team shut out Chapman 30-0 in its season opener on Thursday.
The game was scoreless through one quarter of play.
Drake Blochlinger scored the first of his four touchdowns on a 10-yard run in the second period. Kale Schroeder ran in the two-point conversion to give Concordia an 8-0 lead.
Blochlinger scored a second touchdown in the period on another 10-yard run. Schroeder threw to Isaias Irigoyen for the conversion to put the Panthers up 16-0.
Schroeder hooked up with Blochlinger on a 21-yard scoring pass.
Blochlinger ran in the conversion, and it was a 24-0 Concordia lead at halftime.
The Panthers got a 32-yard touchdown run by Blochlinger in the third period that made it 30-0.
Blochlinger rushed for 133 yards in the game.
Schroeder had 31 yards rushing and Burke Kindel added 18.
