Panthers suffer 28-16 loss to Wamego

The Concordia Junior High School football team suffered a 28-16 loss to Wamego in its season finale Tuesday night at Harold M. Clark Stadium.
Wamego got a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.
Kaide Gropp hooked up with Karson Lister on a 44-yard touchdown pass in the second period.
Gropp then threw to Chane Parker for the two-point conversion to give Concordia an 8-7 advantage.
Wamego went back on top 14-8 with a 50-yard scoring run in the second stanza.
Touchdown runs of 50 yards and 10 yards in the final quarter  put Wamego up 28-8.
Lister caught a 53-yard touchdown pass from Gropp.
Payton Retter ran in the conversion to make it 28-16.
Drew Sterrett rushed for 69 yards on 22 carries for Concordia.
Gropp completed five of seven passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Lister had two catches for 97 yards and two scores.
