Panthers suffer dual loss to Clay Center

Suffering losses in the final seven matches, the Concordia High School wrestling team fell 46-36 to Clay Center in a North Central Kansas League dual Thursday night in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium.
Concordia, which finished up 3-2 in the league, won six of the first eight matches in the dual, five by pin, to take a 36-12 lead.
Clay Center then won the final seven matches, six by pin.
Winning the first three matches, Concordia led 18-0.
Christian Belden won by forfeit in the 106-pound class.
Ashton Dooley, 113 pounds, pinned Greyson Barleen in 1:05.
Koby Tyler, 120 pounds, pinned Hayden Kalivoda.
Drew Sterrett lost by fall to Clay Center's Jimmy Gordon in the 126-pound class.
Concordia's Daniel Vines, 132 pounds, pinned JT Alton in 2:50.
Easton Swihart, 138 pounds, lost by fall to the Tigers' Cale Tromp.
The Panthers then posted consecutive wins.
Torxsten Kindel pinned Aiden Argo in 1:07 in the 144-pound class.
Dustin Sterrett, 150 pounds, pinned Tristan Kramer in 36 seconds. That would be the final win for Concordia.
Bergun Kindel, 157 pounds, lost by technical fall, 15-0, to Talyn Pfizenmaier.
Mason Eickmann, 165 pounds, lost by fall to Brett Loader.
Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds, lost by fall to Tucker Jackson.
Tracer Murdock was pinned by Ethan Tiers in the 190-pound class.
Max Johnson, 220 pounds, lost by fall to Braylon Berry.
Michael Ashland was pinned by Luke Young in the 285-pound class.
Concordia picked up one win in four exhibition matches.
Connor Novak, 132 pounds, pinned Robert Hendrickson.
Trey Collins, 120 pounds, lost a 12-2 major decision to Caben Shaffner.
Jacob Barr, 190 pounds, lost by fall to Dylan Kramer.
Clayton Vierick, 190 pounds, lost by fall to Kramer.
The Panthers will compete in the Class 4A sub-state tournament in McPherson on February 18.
