Panthers tumble to Fort Riley

FORT RILEY — Outscored 24-13 in the second half, the Concordia eighth grade girls' basketball team suffered a 41-27 loss to Fort Riley in the season opener on Thursday.
Concordia trailed 9-5 after one quarter of play.
The Panthers scored nine points in the second period, to eight for Riley County, to close the gap to 17-14 at halftime.
Concordia was outscored 10-4 in the third quarter, and trailed 37-18.
Fort Riley pumped in 14 points in the final stanza to nine for the Panthers.
Charlize Cash scored 10 points for Concordia. Riley Jessup added seven points.
The Concordia B-team played two quarters against Fort Riley, and won 16-6.
