Panthers win Clearwater Invitational

CLEARWATER  — Five wrestlers captured individual titles in leading the Concordia High School wrestling team to a first-place finish in the Clearwater Invitational on Saturday.
Christian Belden, 106 pounds; Koby Tyler, 120 pounds; Drew Sterrett, 126 pounds; Daniel Vines, 132 pounds; and Dustin Sterrett, 150 pounds, placed first for Concordia.
The Panthers, with 13 wrestlers placing in the top four in their respective weight classes, scored 256 points. Mulvane was a distant second with 155 pounds and Derby was third with 152.
Cody Trost placed second for Concordia in the 138-pound class.
Placing third for the Panthers were Carter Eakins, 132 pounds; Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds; Tracer Murdock, 190 pounds; and Michael Ashland, 285 pounds.
Ashton Dooley, 113 pounds; Bergun Kindel, 157 pounds; and Max Johnson, 215 pounds, placed fourth for Concordia.
