WAMEGO — Posting three consecutive wins, the Concordia seventh grade volleyball team won the North Central Kansas League tournament played last Saturday.
Second-seeded Concordia defeated Abilene 25-15, 25-8 in the opening round.
The Panthers knocked off Wamego 25-12, 25-18 in the semifinals.
Wamego beat Chapman in the first round.
Concordia posted a three-set win over top-seeded Rock Creek in the championship match, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20.
“The girls had a great day and they came to the league tournament ready to play,” Concordia coach Cyndi Atwell said. “We got our nerves out early and played well. The championship set wasn't without excitement, letting Rock Creek score eight unanswered serves to sneak up on our 12-point lead. It was a great season and fun bunch of girls.”
