Seventh grade girls finish third in league

MARYSVILLE — The Concordia seventh grade girls' basketball team bounced back from a loss to Marysville in the semifinals to defeat Fort Riley 37-18 in the third-place game of the North Central Kansas League Tournament on Thursday.
Marysville slipped past Concordia 41-38 in the semifinal matchup.
The Panthers then cruised to the win over Fort Riley.
Concordia got out to an 8-2 first quarter lead.
The Panthers scored six points in the second period, to five for Fort Riley, and led 14-7 at halftime.
Each team scored seven points in the third quarter, and it was a 21-14 game.
Concordia poured in 16 points in the final period, and gave up just four points.
Taylor McDaniel led the way for Concordia with 24 points. KcAnna Keiswetter chipped in nine points.
Concordia had a 14-11 lead on Marysville after one quarter of play in the semifinal game.
Marysville limited the Panthers to seven points in the second stanza, and scored 13 to go on top 24-21 at halftime.
The game was tied at 33-33 at the end of the third quarter.
Marysville scored eight points in the final period to five for Concordia.
McDaniel scored 20 points. Keiswetter added nine points.
