Smith places 10th in league

ABILENE — Concordia High School junior Harleigh Smith recorded a top 10 finish in the North Central Kansas League meet at Abilene Country Club on Thursday.
Smith turned in a time of 24:39.9 to place 10th.
Concordia had just three runners in the meet, and did not score as a team.
Moyra Barnes finished 24th in 27:32.4.
Peyton Johnson ran 29:47.6 to place 29th.
Taylor Briggs, Chapman, won the girls' race by more than two minutes with a time of 19:25.6.
Wamego captured the team title with 26 points. Marysville was second with 48 and Clay Center was third with 62.
The Concordia boys had Alan Garcia finish 24th with a time of 19:43.7.
Austin Kilian ran 19:54.0 to place 28th.
Jaret Pfizenmaier, Clay Center, won the race in 17:00.9.
Wamego claimed the team title with 33 points. Clay Center was second with 34 and Marysville was third with 75.
Concordia had Megan Barr place fifth in the eighth grade girls' race in 16:46.6.
Ashlynn Acevedo, Chapman, was first with a time of 13:17.8.
Brandon Wahlmeier finished 11th in the seventh grade boys' race in 13:59.4.
Zakary Allen ran 15:52.1 to place 23rd.
Drew Elliott, Chapman, placed first in 12:22.7.
Concordia had five sixth grade boys run in the race. Their times were, Joel Gross, 14:57.6; Gunnar Barnes, 15:41.9; Draven Luecke, 16;28.6; Clayton Viereck, 16;36.4; Joe Berk, 17:14.2.
Aubrey Stahlman finished 17th in the seventh grade girls' race in 17:20.3.
