Subway edges Belleville CNB, 18-17

Subway outslugged Belleville Citizens National Bank 18-17 in Girls' Softball play Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Citizens National Bank jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Batting around, Subway answered with six runs in the bottom of the first.
A run in the top of the second inning gave Citizens National Bank a 7-6 advantage.
Subway scored six runs in the bottom of the inning and led 12-7.
Citizens National Bank reclaimed the lead at 13-12 with six runs in the top of the third inning.
Pushing across six more runs in the bottom of the third, Subway went back on top, 18-13.
Citizens National Bank closed the gap to 18-17 with four runs in the fourth inning, but came up a run short.
Piper Ferrell and Emma Bray scored three runs each for Subway.
In the other game played Tuesday night, the Concordia American Legion defeated Pike Valley, 18-1.
The American Legion led 3-0 after one inning of play.
Three runs in the second inning gave the American Legion a 6-0 cushion.
The American Legion batted around in the third inning and scored six runs to go up 12-0.
Pike Valley scored its lone run in the fourth inning.
The American Legion added six runs in the fourth.
Morgan Lister and Rubi Trost scored three runs each for the American Legion.
