Subway gets past American Legion

Two big innings propelled Subway to a 13-10 Concordia Recreation Girls' Softball win over the American Legion Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
The American Legion got out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning in the game.
Subway responded with seven runs in the bottom of the first.
Single runs in the second and third innings left the American Legion trailing just 7-6 in the game.
Subway put up six runs in the bottom of the third inning to stretch the lead to 13-6.
The American Legion added two runs in the fourth inning and two in the fifth.
Marlee VanMeter scored three runs for Subway.
Alyssa Patterson, Avery Kueker and Addison Abitz scored two runs each.
Morgan Lister scored three runs for the American Legion.
In the other game played Tuesday night, Cloud County Co-op cruised to a 19-2 win over Funk Pharmacy.
Cloud County Co-op led the game 5-1 after one inning.
Eight runs in the second inning gave Cloud County Co-op a 13-1 advantage.
Funk Pharmacy scored one run in the third inning and Cloud County Co-op tacked on six runs.
Bailey Conner, Lilly Jessup and Genevieve Demanett scored three runs each for Cloud County Co-op.
