T-Birds suffer dual losses to ranked foes

A pair of nationally ranked teams dealt the Cloud County Community College wrestling team losses in a double-dual Wednesday night in Bryant Gymnasium.
Cloud County fell 32-13 to 11th-ranked Labette Community College.
The Thunderbirds lost 45-6 to 10th-ranked Northwest Kansas Technical College and are now 3-7 in duals this season.
Northwest Kansas Technical College defeated Labette, 30-22.
Cloud County suffered losses in the first four matches against Labette.
Brady Foster was pinned by Kolton Misener in the 125-pound class.
Daniel Vines lost by major decision to fifth-ranked Corban Zugelder in the 133-pound class.
The T-Birds were open at 141 pounds.
Tarik Adkins, 149 pounds, dropped a 10-0 major decision to Eric Streeter.
Dylan Ancheta, 157 pounds, picked up Cloud County's first win by defeating sixth-ranked Davion King, 7-2.
Cloud County's Eric Darling fell 4-2 to Matt Smith in the 165-pound class.
The T-Birds then captured consecutive wins.
Wyatt Powell, 174 pounds, won a 14-4 major decision over Chad Herbert.
Macallistair Chambers won the forfeit in the 184-pound class.
Cloud County was open at 197 pounds.
Gavin Nutting, 285 pounds, lost a 5-4 decision to Gabe Kant.
Cloud County's lone win against Northwest Kansas Tech came in the first match with Foster winning by forfeit.
Vines dropped an 8-3 decision to John Kenney.
The T-Birds were again open at 141 pounds.
Adkins lost by technical fall, 21-4, to Dayton Bell.
Ancheta was beaten 8-3 by 10th-ranked Job Lee.
Darling was pinned by Dawson Hogan.
Powell lost by technical fall to top-ranked Otgonbayar Batsurri, 23-7.
Chambers lost by technical fall to fourth-ranked Lazaro Crespo.
