Thrash places sixth for CHS boys in invitational meet

Concordia High School junior Qwinter Thrash recorded a top 10 finish in the invitational cross country meet the Panthers hosted Thursday at Concordia Golf & Wellness.
Thrash turned in a time of 19:20.70 to place sixth in the boys' race.
Concordia had just three runners competing, and did not score as a team.
Freshman Draven Luecke finished 39th for the Panthers in 24:11.10.
Gunner Barnes, a freshman, ran 30:59.40 and placed 45th.
Grant Smith, Clay Center, was the individual champion with a time of 17:12.60.
Beloit-St. John's won the team title with 40 points. Clay Center was second with 54 and Beloit was third with 78.
Concordia also had three girls compete in the meet.
Sophomore Aubrey Stahlman crossed in 17th place for the Panthers with a time of 26:11.20.
Senior Moyra Barnes finished 22nd in 30:19.80.
Junior Megan Barr ran 33:17.10 and placed 28th.
Alayna Cossaart, Minneapolis, was the girls' individual champion with a time of 20:40.40.
Clay Center won the girls' team title with 26 points. Minneapolis was second with 35 and Republic County was third with 65.
Led by individual champion Hannah Bridwell, Concordia had six of the top seven finishers in the junior high girls' race.
Bridwell won the race in 6:07.40.
Mya Niehues placed second in 6:09.50.
Skye Johnson ran 6:47.80 to finish third.
Ashlynn James finished fifth in 6:55.30.
Bailey Conner ran 6:56.10 to place sixth.
Sydney Stephens placed seventh in 6:56.20.
The other Concordia runners, their times and placings, include:
Shelby Coyle, 7:40.40, 15th; Preslee Marsh, 8:00.20, 17th; Skylah Garst, 8:09.80, 21st; Sophia Fraley, 8:53.90, 25th; and Aubrianna Ngo, 9:10.50, 26th.
Concordia finished first as a team with 15 points. Clay Center was second with 45.
In the junior high boys' race, Concordia's Trigg Fraser placed ninth in 6:48.30.
Brody Marsh finished 12th in 7:07.20 and Daniel Reedy was 16th in 7:32.30.
