WINFIELD — Representing Concordia by himself at the state level, Evan Bombardier competed at the Kansas 4A boys tennis state competition, ending his senior season with a 1-2 record.
Starting the day off with a win, 6-4 and 6-2 over Leo Gill of Bishop Miege, Bombardier lost to number-one seeded Davian Spies of Buhler to fall to the consolation bracket. Spies was the eventual first-place winner for singles, and ended with a 29-2 record.
In the consolation bracket, Bombardier fell to Reece Knight of El Dorado, 8-4. Knight ended up 11th. Bombardier ended the season with a record of 19-17.
