SALINA—Competing in a 13-team meet hosted by Salina Central, the Concordia Girls’ Tennis team finished in 10th place.
In combined singles, Harley Weathersbee went 2-2. After falling in match one 8-3 to Delia Dixon of Hays, Weathersbee picked up two wins, 8-5 over Shaundra Jones of Salina Central White, and 8-6 over Addelyn Hinderlitter of Baldwin, before ending her day by medical default.
Also in singles, Lyllian McNutt went 0-3. McNutt fell 8-0 to Imani De La Cruz of Salina Central Maroon, 8-1 to Eva Lull of Wamego Red, and 8-0 to Ari McClure of Hays.
In the doubles bracket, the duo of Jori Letourneau and Kinzee Motes went 1-3 on the day and finished in 16th place. Opening the day with an 8-2 victory over Lucy Geitz and Karrigan Thompson of Sacred Heart, the duo dropped three straight matches, 8-1 to Caden Speer and Kaylyn Hiebsh of Topeak-Seaman, 8-5 to Esabel Elder and Gracyn Godd of Wamego Black, and 8-4 to Taylor Schrader and Amy Torrero of Salina Central Maroon to end their day.
Also in the doubles bracket, the duo of Bailey Conner and Jazlyn Hendershott went 1-3 on the day for a 22nd-place finish and picked up their first varsity win of the year. Starting with an 8-1 loss ot Mya Pioutz and Savannah Clingan of Hays, then an 8-2 loss to Lauren McGart and Maggie Todd of Baldwin, the duo picked up an 8-0 win over Geitz and Thompson of Sacred Heart, before ending the day with an 8-2 loss to Mazie Ryan and Killia Gross of Salina Central White.
