CHS softball falls to Chapman

Hosting Chapman for a senior day doubleheader, the Concordia High School softball team fell to the Irish for its sixth straight loss.

In game one, the Panthers lost 7-0.

Chapman got on the board first in the top of the first, scoring two runs to take a 2-0 lead. After an Irish three-up-three-down second inning, the Panthers got into scoring position with a Kenlee Williams double before out three left her on base. Chapman scored two more runs in the third and fourth to take a 6-0 lead after four innings. The Panthers would record multiple hits but would not be able to get any across home as the Irish pitching limited damage. With one more Irish run in the seventh, Chapman took game one 7-0.

Jaylen Roush got the start pitching and picked up four strikeouts.

Williams had two hits. Morgan Lister, Katelyn Reedy, and Roush each had a hit.

In game two, the Panthers lost 18-1. 

The Irish continued the momentum into the second game, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Panthers would pick up their lone run in the bottom of the first inning, with Kinsleigh Bethune hitting a double and scoring on a Roush hit.

Chapman exploded in the second inning, scoring five runs to take an 8-1 lead. The Panther bats would get put on ice as the Irish scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to run-rule the Panthers.

Morgan Lister got the start pitching, with Catelin Benyshek filling in relief, totaling three strikeouts.
