CHS Volleyball competes at SES Tournament, falls to Rock Creek

GYPSUM — Heading south for a weekend tournament hosted by Southeast of Saline, the Concordia High School volleyball team faced off with five opponent in one day alongside a double dual with Rock Creek earlier in the week.

Versus Hillsboro, the Panthers lost 2-0.

Hillsboro took set one 25-18 and narrowly took set two 25-23 over the Panthers.

Rubi Trost led in kills with four; Stella Trost and Morgan Lister had three; Avery Kueker had two; Skylah Garst and Lili Brooks each had one. Garst had 13 assists. Lister led in digs with 10; Rubi and Skylah had six; Stella and Kueker had five; Ella Roeder had two; Brooks and Oakleigh Teel each had one.

Versus Southeast of Saline, the Panthers lost 2-0.

SES took set one with a narrow 26-24 victory, before taking set two 25-18.

Rubi led in kills with seven; Kueker had three; Brooks had two. Garst had 12 assists. Stella led in digs with 18; Kueker had 10; Lister had nine; Brooks had six; Rubi and Garst had five; Roeder had two. Stella and Lister each had a block.

Versus Circle, the Panthers lost 2-0.

The Thunderbirds took set one 25-13 and took set two 25-14.

Kueker led in kills with seven; Lister had four; Stella and Sophia Fraley each had one. Garst led in assists with 12, with Lister having one. Stella led in digs with eight; Rubi and Roeder each had six; Garst had five; Lister and Kueker had four each; Fraley had one.

Versus Abilene, the Panthers lost 2-0.

Abilene took set one 25- 22 and set two 25-18.

Versus Salina South, the Panthers lost 2-1.

Salina South took the first set 25-20, but the Panthers were able to grit out a 25-21 set two victory, before falling in set three 25-19.

Lister led in kills with seven; Kueker had six; Alexis Martin had four; Rubi and Fraley had three; Stella had two; Garst had one. Garst led in assists with 20; Fraley had two; Lister had one. Stella led in digs with 15; Kueker had 13; Rubi and Garst had 12; Roeder had nine; Brooks had three; Fraley and Lister had two; Martin had one. Fraley had two blocks; Martin and Kueker had one.

At Rock Creek, the Panthers dropped both matches, 2-1 and 2-0.

In match one, the Panthers lost 2-1.

Rock Creek took the first set 25-8, with Concordia taking set two in a narrow 25-23 victory to force a set three, which the Mustangs won 25-6.

Avery Kueker led in kills with five; Morgan Lister had four; Marlee VanMeter had three; Oakleigh Teel had two; Stella Trost and Skylah Garst had one each. Garst led in assists with 12; Rubi Trost and Kueker each had one. VanMeter led in digs with 10; Lister had nine; Garst had seven; Rubi had six; Kuker had five; Stella had four; and Ella Roeder had one. Lister led in blocks with two; Stella and Garst had one each.

In match two, the Panthers lost 2-0.

Rock Creek took set one 25-10 and set two 25-15.

Stella and VanMeter each had three kills; Garst and Kueker each had two kills; Lister had one. Garst led in assists with six; Lister had two; VanMeter had one. Kueker led in digs with eight; Rubi and VanMeter each had four; Stella, Skylah, and Lili Brooks each had three; Lister had one.
