Clifton-Clyde golf competes at Republic County Invitational

BELLEVILLE — Participating in the second straight green-style course, the Clifton-Clyde golf team participated in the Republic County Invitational.

The Eagles finished ninth as a team with a score of 428 in the 11-team match.

Jack Skocny was the top Eagle with a score of 99, good for 27th place.

Parker Knoettgen was 35th with a score of 102.

Ethan Roeder had a 38th-place tied score of 105 and finished 39th.

Jayla Robbins was 52nd with a score of 122.

Gage LeClair was 53rd with a score of 123.

Joseph Fahey was 58th with a score of 136.

For the first time competing on a green course, the Eagles’ golf team competed at the Frankfort meet at Onaga, taking home a fifth-place finish.

Graham Valburg of Onaga was first individually with a score of 76, and held a nine-stroke lead over second place. Onaga also got first place as a team with a team score of 352. Clifton-Clyde had a score of 428.

Jack Skocny led the Eagles and earned an eighth-place finish with a score of 97.

Oliver Nobert earned a 15th-place finish with a score of 104.

Ethan Roeder had an 18th-place tied score of 107 and a 22nd overall finish.

Sevy Wurtz had a score of 120, good for 31st place.

Rylie Wunderle had a score of 124, good for 36th.

Gage LeClair had a score of 125, good for 37th.
