Hosting number three-ranked Hanover and Washington County for a triangular in the final home matches of the regular season, the Clifton-Clyde volleyball team split the night 1-1 to their TVL neighbors up north.
In the first match of the evening, the Eagles lost to Hanover 2-0.
Hanover took set one 25-17, and after a tough fight down the stretch by the Eagles, the Wildcats took set two 25-20.
To close the night on a strong note, the Eagles defeated Washington County 2-0.
Winning the first set 25-17, the Eagles had a strong outing to complete the sweep over the Tigers with a 25-16 set two win.
Calyn Baker led in kills for the night with 16, Sevy Wurtz had 12 and Paige Joy had eight. Scout Skocny led in digs with 15, Sevy had 10, and Baker had nine. Joy led in blocks with six, Baker and Sevy had four each, with Ellie Wurtz and Finley Knoettgen having three. Sevy led in assists with 20, and Jordi Fahey had 13.
Hosting Onaga and Blue Valley on senior night, the Clifton-Clyde volleyball team picked up a pair of wins over the two Twin Valley League foes.
In the first match of the night versus Onaga, the Eagles won 2-1. After dropping set one 25-22 to the Buffaloes, the Eagles dominated in set two 25-10 before edging out a thrilling 25-23 set three win.
In the second match of the night, the Eagles defeated Blue Valley 2-0. After a 25-20 set one win for the Eagles, set two was a tight 26-24 set two win to complete the sweep.
Sevy Wurtz, Calyn Baker and Paige Joy all led in kills with 15 each. Scout Skocny led in digs with 24, Baker and Sevy each had 12. Sevy and Joy led in blocks with six each with Finley Knoettgen having four. Sevy led in assists with 12, Jordi Fahey had seven and Joy had six. Sydney Huncovsky had four aces.
