Being dealt their first district loss of the year, but still in the running to host the week nine playoff game, the Clifton-Clyde football team fell to Sylvan-Lucas 44-8.
The Eagles struggled to get the ball moving early, with the Mustangs getting one of three total picks early and took a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Eagles would pick up their lone score of the game and would keep within striking distance. Kyzler Damman found Gage LeClair for a 20-yard passing touchdown, and Fahey scored the two-point attempt. The Mustangs would only score once to match the Eagles’ score, and the score was 22-8 at halftime.
The Eagles couldn’t find the end zone in the second half, while Sylvan-Lucas found the end zone three more times to make it a 44-8 game. As the Mustangs remain undefeated, this was the fewest points scored by the Mustangs this year.
Kyzler Damman went 9-14 passing of 98 yards and a touchdown, with 36 yards rushing.
Joseph Fahey went 3-5 passing for 25 yards, with 91 yards rushing on 13 attempts.
