GLASCO — In the inaugural meet of the inaugural season for the Clifton-Clyde golf team, the Eagles finished fifth in the eight-team meet, with two top 15 finishes against some of the best sand teams in the state.
Oliver Nobert finished with a score of 86 and tied for 12th place individually.
Sevy Wurtz finished with a score of 87 and tied for 14th place.
Jack Skocny finished with a score of 90, with a rough 10-stroke hole six keeping him out of the top 15.
Parker Knoettgen finished with a score of 93. Back-to-back 10-stroke holes on holes 15 and 16 kept him out of the top 15.
Ethan Roeder finished with a score of 97.
Rylie Wunderle finished with a score of 104.
Defending state champion Jace Cunningham of Lakeside finished first with a score of 69.
Lakeside finished first as a team with a four-man score of 304. Riley County finished second (329 points), with state runner-up Harvey Listner scoring a 72. Rock Hills finished third with 341, St. John’s-Beloit finished fourth with 346, Clifton-Clyde finished fifth with a score of 356.
