BELOIT — In the largest meet of the year for the Clifton-Clyde Eagles’ track team, the girls team finished third overall (second in 1A/2A) and the boys team finished 12th (fifth in 1A/2A) in the 31-team Beloit Relays.
100m dash — Girls: Sevy Wurtz was second with a time of 12.88. Rori Miles of Bennington was first with a time of 12.78.
200m dash — Girls: Wurtz was second with a time of 26.48. Miles (Bennington) was first with a time of 26.11.
300m hurdles — Girls: Paige Joy was sixth with a time of 53.04. Jaci Winter was 10th with a time of 54.87. Addy Goeckel of Washington County was first with a time of 46.18.
1,600m run — Boys: Cohen Girard was fifth with a time of 4:54.13. Landon Begnoche was eighth with a time of 5:11.89. Garrison Zerger of Ell-Saline was first with a time of 4:40.22.
3,200m run — Boys: Cohen Girard was fifth with a time of 10:25.4. Landon Begnoche was sixth with a time of 10:44.81. Gavin Hickert of Smith Center won with a time of 10:07.38.
4x400m relay — Boys: the Eagles’ relay team finished fourth with a time of 3:40.73. Smith Center won with a time of 3:33.04.
4x800m relay — Girls: the team of Lillian Steinbrock, Jaci WInter, Gracen Sacco, and Kiersten Robbins got fourth with a time of 10:49.04. Osborne won with a time of 10:07.28. Boys: the Eagles’ relay team finished third with a time of 8:42.55. Rock Hills won with a time of 8:24.77.
Pole Vault — Girls: Jordi Fahey won with a height of 10’. Boys: Brady Pruser won gold with a height of 13’, a foot higher than second place.
High Jump — Girls: Paige Joy tied for fourth with a height of 4’8”. Ashlynn Shultz of Osborne was first with a height of 5’. Boys: Jack Skocny was fourth with a height of 5’10”. Brogan Rowley of Ell-Saline was first with a height of 6’2”.
Long jump — Girls: Sevy Wurtz won with a distance of 17’2.5”.
Triple Jump — Girls: Sevy Wurtz won with a distance of 35’8.75”.
Discus — Girls: Calyn Baker won with a throw of 128’7”. Boys: Locklund Feight was second with a throw of 140’2”. Ryan LeClair was seventh with a throw of 121’10”.
Shot put — Girls: Calyn Baker was fourth with a throw of 36’4”. Kaydyn Armknecht of Smith Center was first with a throw of 38’0.5”. Boys: Locklund Feight was fourth with a throw of 45’4”. Ryan LeClair was 10th with a throw of 39’4.5”. Victor Ruiz-Torres of Ell-Saline was first with a throw of 50’5”.
Competing in the Washington County invitational last Tuesday, the Eagles’ track team took home 12 top-three finishes on its way to a third-place (boys) and fourth-place (girls) finish.
100m dash — Girls: Sevy Wurtz was first with a time of 12.83.
200m dash — Girls: Wurtz won with a time of 26.74.
300m hurdles — Girls: Jaci Winter was fifth with a time of 52.84. Addy Goeckel of Washington County was first with a time of 46.09.
800m run — Boys: Landon Begnoche was third with a time of 2:08.06. Striker Affolter was fifth with a time of 2:09.33. Gavin Shaughnessy of Axtell was first with a time of 2:05.06.
4x400m relay — Boys: the Eagles’ team was third with a time of 3:41.08. Axtell was first with a time of 3:36.66.
4x800m relay — Girls: the Eagles’ team was first with a time of 10:58.81. Boys: the Eagles’ team was second with a time of 8:31.20. Axtell was first with a time of 8:28.20.
High Jump — Girls: Paige Joy was third with a height of 4’10”. Bryleigh Brockman of Blue Valley-Randolph was first with a height of 4’10”, an overall four-way tie for first. Boys: Jack Skocny was second with a height of 6’2”. Logan Sandmann of Axtell was first with a height of 6’6”.
Long Jump — Girls: Lillian Steinbrock was sixth with a jump of 14’3”. Alyssa Jueneman of Washington County was first with a jump of 15’10”.
Pole Vault — Girls: Jordi Fahey was second with a height of 10’. Kiersten Robbins was sixth with a height of 7’6”. Addie Walters was eighth, also with a height of 7’6”. Lillie Weiser of Onaga was first with a height of 10’6”. Boys: Brady Pruser was first with a height of 13’.
Discus — Girls: Calyn Baker was third with a throw of 105’2”. Katelyn Detweiler of Axtell was first with a throw of 120’. Boys: Locklund Feight was first with a throw of 152’7”. Ryan LeClair was eighth with a throw of 104’9”.
Javelin — Baker was seventh with a throw of 99’10”. Jesse Hoover of Washington County was first with a throw of 147’11”.
