Edna Marrion Olson died on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center. She was born on November 16, 1940, and was the daughter of Arvid and Ethel (Nolan) Bergstrom, the fifth of seven children. Edna graduated from Haddam High School in 1958. Then, on July 18 of 1959, she married the love of her life, Jim Olson. This past July, Edna and Jim celebrated 67 years of marriage.
During Edna’s lifelong career of bookkeeping, she always enjoyed the people. Whether it was hanging with the boys at Willbrant Construction or having coffee with the girls at Linn Nursing Home, her love for people was evident to all. However, Agenda Elevator was the favorite place to be. Edna worked alongside Jim as he managed the elevator for 12+ years. Many farmers in the community would walk past Jim’s office to “go speak to the boss” and settle their business.
A lifelong lover of all things agricultural, Edna became an avid gardener, known for amazing lush green vegetation and endless blooms. And no one can forget her love of the Kansas State Wildcats, with football season tickets during the Snyder era. During football season, Edna would often lead the family, and anyone else that would join, in singing Wildcat Victory and the Alma Mater. Go Cats!
She leaves behind her beloved spouse Jim Olson of Clay Center and their children including spouses: Gerralee Olson Damman (Michael) of Topeka, KS; David James Olson (Kari) of Lenexa, KS and Carla Sue Greene-Clark (Jay) of Wichita, KS.
Proud Grammie of: Kristi, Michael James, Elizabeth, Alyson, Abby, Hadley, Ella, Marcus, Corrinne, Carlee, Oscar, Evan and Sophia. She was also blessed to be Great Grammie to 15 great grandchildren as well.
Visitation was held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center.
