Girard wins Rep. Co. Invite, Eagle boys take fourth; Panthers finish eighth

BELLEVILLE — After a last-minute scramble to find a meet after Southeast of Saline canceled their meet due to weather, the Concordia High School cross country team joined the Republic County Invitational last Thursday alongside Clifton-Clyde, who was scheduled for the meet, with an Eagle taking first place.

In the boys’ race, Cohen Girard of Clifton-Clyde finished in first place with a time of 17:09.08, 49.98 seconds faster than second place. Styker Affolter was seventh with a time of 18:53.34. Isaiah Jackson was 40th with a time of 21:26.35. Remy Girard was 43rd with a time of 21:26.35. Broden Kolman was 47th with a time of 22:25.30. Logan Payeur was 60th with a time of 26:40.14. Trace Harvey was 62nd with a time of 30:17.99.

For Concordia, Brody Marsh was the fastest Panther with a time of 20:25.91, good for 27th place. Daniel Reedy was 35th with a time of 21:11.31, with Tucker Davis just behind him in 36th with a time of 21:11.82. Carson Gallardo was 39th with a time of 21:24.69. Eli Denham was 46th with a time of 22:19.37. Colton Gallardo was 57th with a time of 24:21.89.

In the girls’ race, Kiersten Robbins was the fastest Eagle with a time of 26:58.98, good for 19th place, and Lille Cross was 24th with a time of 26:39.49. Sophia Fall, as the lone Panther, was 27th with a time of 26:58.98. Dakota Clausen-Peters of Republic County was first with a time of 20:44.49.

Southeast of Saline boys won as a team with 54 points, Clifton-Clyde was fourth with 118 points, and Concordia was eighth with 153 points. Ellsworth as a team in the girls’ race with 33 points.
