Neighbor to Neighbor in downtown Concordia, invites preschoolers to Reading With Friends! On Friday, March 13, at 10 a.m. The book, “Strictly No Elephants,” written by Lisa Mantchev is the selected story this month. Story time will be followed by play time in Neighbor to Neighbor’s special play room.
In this bestselling and internationally beloved picture book, the local Pet Club won’t admit a boy’s tiny pet elephant, so he finds a solution—one that involves all kinds of unusual animals.
“Today is Pet Club day. There will be cats and dogs and fish, but strictly no elephants are allowed. The Pet Club doesn’t understand that pets come in all shapes and sizes, just like friends. Now it is time for a boy and his tiny pet elephant to show them what it means to be a true friend.”
Pre-registration is required to attend and each family will receive a copy of the book while supplies last. To register, call Neighbor to Neighbor at 785-262-4215 or email neighbortoneighbor@csjkansas.org . Neighbor to Neighbor is located at 103 East 6th St.
