T-Bird Baseball goes 1-2 against Seminole State

Traveling south to Oklahoma to take on Seminole State College for a double-header on Friday, and a stand-alone game on Saturday, the Cloud County Community College baseball team went 1-2 against the Trojans.

In the first game of the double-header, the T-Birds fell 1-5.

Falling behind 3-0 after the first inning, the only T-Bird score in the game would come in the second inning, thanks to a throwing error. The Trojans would score two more times— in the bottom of the third and seventh innings, with one being a solo home run.

Jack MacIntosh was given the loss, giving up three runs on one hit, with three hitters walked.

Nolan Freund had two hits, including a double, on four at bats.

Joey Marino had one run scored on one hit.

Austin Coyle and David Simmons each had one hit.

In game two of the double-header, the T-Birds were able to bounce back and pick up a 9-2 victory.

After three scoreless innings of play, the T-Birds struck first and hard, scoring four runs in the top of the fourth inning. Cloud would score six runs before the Trojans would finally get on the board with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The T-Birds capped the day with three runs in the top of the ninth to cap off the 9-2 win.

Caden Marcum picked up the win on the mound with four strikeouts, one base on balls, and no runs allowed for the 13 batters he faced in four innings pitched.

Coyle had two runs scored on three hits with four RBIs.

Easton Mould had two runs scored on two hits.

Freund had one run scored on two hits.

Carter Cathers had one run scored on two hits with three RBIs.

Eric Bradicich, Lucas Laukkanen, and Simmons each scored one run.

In the Saturday stand-alone game, the T-Birds got blown out 11-1 in seven innings.

Falling behind 4-0 after the first inning, the T-birds could not generate the offense needed as Cloud would be held scoreless until the top of the sixth inning, to generate the final score of 11-1.

Noah Bourgeois (1-1) was given the loss, allowing seven runs on four hits with four strikeouts in 21 batters faced in 3.2 innings.

Matthew Evans had one run scored on two hits.

Kaden Budke, Bradicich, Cathers, Freund, Coyle, Simmons all notched one hit.
