Wrestling highlights exceptional athletes at year-end banquet

At the end of the season banquet for the Concordia High School Wrestling team, many members were recognized for their efforts and performance throughout the 2025-26 season, both by their teammates and coaches.

Juniors Drake Blochlinger and Tre Hamiel were nominated by their fellow wrestlers for the Most Outstanding Wrestler award on the boys side, while junior Gabi Lange won it on the girls’ side. All three members medaled at state, with Lange and Blochlinger finishing in second place and Hamiel finishing in fifth place.

Frehmen Cooper Wogomon and Ava Rowland were voted Young Wrestlers of the Year by their fellow wrestlers. Wogomon went 14-14 on the year, while Rowland went 20-10 and won a pair of matches in the state tournament.

Senior Rush LeDuc was awarded the Panther Leader award, voted on by the coaching staff. LeDuc went 22-13 on the year and wrestled in every varsity meet but one this year at weight class 132.

Blochlinger, Hamiel and Rowland all earned All-NCKL first team. Jacsen Whitley, Deekon Holbert, Max Metzler, LeDuc, Isabelle Alexander and Lange all earned All-NCKL honorable mention.
